This should be replaced with Dtool_GetPyTypeObject, hiding the implementation details a bit so that we can more easily change the underlying structure if we need later
Also adds Py_NewRef to py_compat.h, backporting from master
Starting with Python 3.12, passing a PyLong into Py_SIZE() triggers an
assertion. PyLong (and the whole C API) is transitioning to be more
opaque and expose fewer implementation details.
Enabled with `pstats-python-profiler 1`, requires recent version of PStats server.
Currently, it is limited to the main thread only. Support for other threads may be added at a later date.
- `interrogate_function_is_constructor()`
- `interrogate_function_is_destructor()`
- `interrogate_wrapper_parameter_is_optional()`
- `interrogate_wrapper_parameter_is_scoped_enum()`
- `interrogate_wrapper_parameter_is_final()`
Only `interrogate_wrapper_parameter_is_optional()` requires a rebuild of the database with the new changes.
We can't call PyErr_Restore() without a valid thread state, which won't exist in a custom thread if we just called PyGILState_Release(). Not sure how this has ever worked.
This changes includes so that local includes are consistently
#include "localFile.h"
while system and third-party includes are consistently
#include <systemFile.h>
This commit mostly converts the former to the latter; the two
exceptions are in android_main.cxx and fmodAudioSound.h, where
the reverse was necessary.
Only the basics are supported; the __members__ or iter interface is not supported at this time.
See also #351 for discussion on pulling in enum34 module.
If a class inherits from ReferenceCount, it can be destructed by downcasting to ReferenceCount, so it should not be an obstacle to properly clean it up when such a class is returned from C++.
This issue comes up when a CycleData is returned via MemoryUsagePointers, which is not exposed so is wrapped as NodeReferenceCount instead, which has a protected destructor.
