## Catch up on March 5, 2015
_[Scrapy 1.0](/scrapy/scrapy/milestones/Scrapy%201.0) tickets review_
### Attendees
* Pablo Hoffman ([@pablohoffman](/pablohoffman))
* Daniel Graña ([@dangra](/dangra))
* Mikhail Korobov ([@kmike](/kmike))
* Julia Medina ([@curita](/curita))
### Updates
* Python logging is nearly finished on [[WIP] Python logging](/scrapy/scrapy/pull/1060) PR
* We no longer have someone assign for Python 3 port
### Decisions
* We’ll try to wrap 1.0 between this month (Q1 goal)
* New [Scrapy 1.1](/scrapy/scrapy/milestones/Scrapy%201.1) milestone for wanted issues that we’re not going to tackle for 1.0.
Issues moved to 1.1:
* [Centralized Request fingerprints](/scrapy/scrapy/issues/900)
* [Promote a new CrawlSpider that allows overriding \`parse\`](/scrapy/scrapy/issues/712)
* [Python 3 support](/scrapy/scrapy/issues/263) (mainly because of time concerns, it’s still a project idea for GSoC)
* New features for Scrapy 1.0:
* [allow spiders to return dicts instead of Items](/scrapy/scrapy/issues/1064)
* [Modules relocation](/scrapy/scrapy/issues/1063)
* [item_scraped signal is not fired when crawler is called via API](/scrapy/scrapy/issues/451) (we should check first this is in fact happening, and fix it since it’s related to the API changes)
### Further work
* Send a poll (on the next Scrapinghub newsletter) for the name of the ‘extract_first’ feature for selectors in [xpath1, xpath_one or xpath_first](/scrapy/scrapy/issues/568).
Contenders:
* extract_one
* extract_first
* extract1
* get
* first
* one
After that merge [#624](/scrapy/scrapy/pull/624) PR (and close all related issues/PRs) with the winning name
* Assign someone to help with pending tickets, especially the documentation ones
* [Support relative urls better](/scrapy/scrapy/issues/548): for now, just add urljoin() to response.
* Continue with [[WIP] Changes to crawler API](/scrapy/scrapy/pull/873) (Assigned: Julia). There are two different tasks here:
* Clean up what’s currently developed, this is the intent of that PR
* Improve APIs usability. We should start with making examples on how we want to use the API as a library, and investigate their feasibility
### Follow up
