fix(subscriptions): assign the price arm before registration, not after (#792)
Fixes a design flaw in #700, before the experiment has any exposure.

## The problem

#700 drew the arm from `crc32('price:' . $user->id)`, which can only
happen once the user exists. But the landing quotes a price to anonymous
visitors, and `plansFor(null)` had no arm to apply — so **every visitor
saw €3.99**, and half of them were switched to €8.99 after registering.

That biases the result in both directions at once:

- **Against `high`** — it pays a penalty that isn't price sensitivity
but a price that moved after being advertised. Someone who'd have
happily paid €8.99 quoted upfront leaves because they feel baited.
- **In favour of `high`** — its funnel only contains people who already
decided to sign up under a €3.99 promise. In a world where we actually
charge €8.99, the landing says €8.99 and some of them never register at
all. The experiment is blind to that drop-off.

Neither bias is recoverable from the data, and they don't cancel: a
narrow loss for `high` would be uninterpretable.

## The fix

Draw the arm for the **anonymous visitor** on their first page view,
keep it in a year-long cookie, and freeze it onto `users.price_arm` at
registration. The landing quotes what checkout will charge, and the
whole funnel is measured under one price.

| | before | after |
|---|---|---|
| assigned at | registration | first page view |
| source | `crc32('price:' . id) % 2` | random 50/50 draw |
| stored in | nothing (recomputed) | cookie → `users.price_arm` |
| landing shows | always control | the visitor's arm |

Details worth a look in review:

- **The draw is random, not a hash.** There's no stable identifier
before the user exists. This is what forces the column — the arm has to
outlive the cookie.
- **The middleware writes the arm onto the current request**, not just
the response cookie. The cookie only reaches the browser *after* this
response, and the first view is the landing — the one page that most
needs the right price.
- **Checkout reads `users.price_arm` only, never the cookie.** Editing
your cookie after signing up doesn't get you the cheap price. There's a
test that asserts exactly this, with the cookie set to `control` and the
stored arm `high`.
- **No arm = control.** Users from before the experiment, cookies
blocked, arriving at a deep link. `sanitize()` narrows both the cookie
and the column, since a user controls the former.
- **`force_variant` now also stops the draw** — a winner being rolled
out means the split is over.
- **`price_arm` is in `$hidden`.** The frontend has no use for it, and
it needn't be visible in the Inertia payload.

## Exposure

**None.** The experiment started at 14:00 UTC and had **0 signups past
the cutoff** when this was written, so no arm needs reconciling and no
user changes price. This is the last moment this change is free.

## Reading results

The CRC32 expression from #700 is obsolete:

```sql
SELECT COALESCE(price_arm, 'legacy') AS arm, COUNT(*)
FROM users WHERE created_at >= '<started_at>' GROUP BY arm;
```

## Still open

The landing now shows €8.99 to half of anonymous visitors, which means
the experiment can finally affect signup volume itself. That's the point
— but it also means a drop in registrations is a *result*, not a bug,
and shouldn't be rolled back on reflex.

## Tests

19 tests in `PriceExperimentTest`, rewritten around the new mechanism:
the draw, the gate, the forced winner, the cookie→prop path on the first
visit, freezing at registration, and checkout ignoring the cookie.
`Auth`, `SubscriptionTest`, `InertiaSharedDataTest`, `CashflowPageTest`
and `SyncStripePricesCommandTest` all green locally (122 tests). PHPStan
and `crap` clean.

fix(auth): make build deterministic when REGISTRATION_ENABLED=false (#720)
## Problem

`bun run build` failed whenever `REGISTRATION_ENABLED=false`.

`config/fortify.php` only added `Features::registration()` when the env
flag
was truthy, so with the flag off Fortify never registered the
`/register`
routes. Wayfinder only generates helpers for registered routes, so the
`register` / `register.store` helpers imported by
`resources/js/pages/auth/login.tsx`
and `resources/js/pages/auth/register.tsx` no longer resolved and the
build
broke. The build outcome depended on an env flag — not deterministic.

## Fix

Decouple *route registration* from *whether sign-ups are accepted*:

- **Always register** `Features::registration()` in
`config/fortify.php`, so the
`/register` routes (and their Wayfinder helpers) always exist and the
build is
  deterministic regardless of the flag.
- Gate acceptance at **runtime** via a new
`config('auth.registration_enabled')`
value (mapped from `env('REGISTRATION_ENABLED', true)`), the single
source of truth.
- When registration is disabled:
- `GET /register` (Fortify register view) and `POST /register`
(`CreateNewUser`)
    return **403**.
- Registration CTAs stay hidden via `canRegister` (login view + landing
page).
- Guests are redirected to `/login`
(`AuthEntryPointService::guestRedirectRoute`).
- With the flag enabled (the default), registration behaves exactly as
before.

## Tests

- Rewrote `tests/Feature/Auth/RegistrationDisabledTest.php` to the
runtime
mechanism: registration enabled by default, route helpers always
registered
regardless of the flag, `GET`/`POST /register` return 403 when disabled
(and no
  user is created), and the landing/login CTAs hide.
- Updated the `DashboardTest` disabled-registration case to toggle
`config('auth.registration_enabled')` instead of filtering the Fortify
feature.
- Verified `bun run build` succeeds with `REGISTRATION_ENABLED=false`
and that the
  `register` / `register.store` Wayfinder helpers are generated.

## Docs

- Updated `README.md` and `.env.example` to describe the 403 behavior
(routes stay
  registered rather than being removed).

refactor: remove HIDE_AUTH_BUTTONS launch gate and waitlist apparatus (#717)
## What & why

The `HIDE_AUTH_BUTTONS` flag and its signed-link auth-override existed
only to gate registration/login behind a waitlist during the launch
period. That period is long over, so this removes the flag and the whole
waitlist apparatus. Registration and login are now always open, still
governed by `REGISTRATION_ENABLED` (Fortify's registration feature),
which is untouched.

## Removed

- **`HIDE_AUTH_BUTTONS`** config/env and
**`LandingAuthOverrideService`** — the signed-link override, override
cookie, and `?force=` bypass — plus its
`GenerateLandingAuthLinkCommand`.
- **Waitlist lead-capture + invitation apparatus**: `UserLeadController`
+ `waitlist.*`/`user-leads.*` routes, `StoreUserLeadRequest`, the
landing `WaitlistForm`, `waitlist/*` pages, waitlist/invitation mails,
invitation & re-invitation commands, the lead verification notification,
`LeadCohort`/`LeadCohortResolver`/`LeadPromoCodeAllocator`, and the
lead→Resend segment sync (scheduled tasks removed too).
- Frontend `hideAuthButtons`/`forcedRegistration` threading and the
`?force=` query on auth links (header, welcome, register, login).
- All tests for the removed features; `landing.hide_auth_buttons` config
stubs stripped from surviving tests.

## Kept on purpose (data preservation)

The `user_leads` **table, its migrations, and a lean `UserLead` model
are retained** — no destructive migration. Pre-launch contacts are not
lost, and new signups whose email matches a preserved lead still receive
that lead's promo code at Stripe checkout
(`SubscriptionController::resolveLeadPromotionCodeId`, unchanged).

## Testing

- Full non-Browser Pest suite green locally (**1948 passed**), plus
Pint, Prettier, ESLint.
- Browser QA (Playwright) on the running app: landing no longer shows
the waitlist form and renders the register/login CTAs; `/register`
renders the form (previously returned null when hidden); `/login` shows
the "Sign up" link pointing to `/register` with no `?force`. 16/16
functional checks passed; only pre-existing external-resource 404s in
console (gravatar `d=404`, `via.placeholder.com` seed images).

refactor: centralize duplicated provider & locale keys into enums (#543)
## What

Unifies keys that were repeated across the codebase into two PHP enums
as the single source of truth. Two independent commits:

### `refactor(banking)` — `BankingProvider` enum
- New `App\Enums\BankingProvider` (`indexacapital`, `binance`,
`bitpanda`, `coinbase`, `wise`, `enablebanking`).
- `BankingConnection`'s `provider` column is cast to the enum → magic
strings gone from the model, controllers (`match`), requests, jobs,
commands, factory and `where('provider', ...)`.
- Logic that was duplicated, now on the enum:
  - `usesApiKey()` — API-key auth (everything except EnableBanking).
- `defaultAccountType()` — provider → account type (removes the
duplicated ternary in `CreatesAccountsFromPending` and
`AccountMappingController`).

### `refactor(i18n)` — `Locale` enum
- New `App\Enums\Locale` (`en`/`es`/`fr`).
- Unifies the `['en','es','fr']` list (validation in `SetLocale` and
`ProfileUpdateRequest` via `Rule::enum`) and the `Accept-Language`
detection (`Locale::detectFromHeader`), previously duplicated in
`SetLocale` and `CreateNewUser`.

## Interaction with Wise (PR #525)

Rebasing onto Wise surfaced two issues this PR fixes:
1. **`isWise()` was broken** once `provider` is cast (it compared `===
'wise'` against an enum → always `false`).
2. **Account type**: Wise uses an API key (✓ it gets the auth-failed
email) but is a **checking** account, not an investment one. Account
type now flows through `defaultAccountType()` (Wise/EnableBanking →
Checking; indexa/binance/bitpanda/coinbase → Investment).

## Behavior change (minor)

`CreateNewUser` now detects `fr` at registration (previously only
`es`/`en`), consistent with the existing French support.

## Out of scope

- Frontend (`['indexacapital','binance',...]`, `provider: string`):
syncing TS with the PHP enums would need typegen. It still receives the
string via `->value`.
- `TransactionSource::Wise/EnableBanking`: a separate enum (transaction
origin), not a duplicated check.

## Tests

- New: `tests/Unit/Enums/BankingProviderTest.php`,
`tests/Unit/Enums/LocaleTest.php`.
- `vendor/bin/pint --test` ✓ · Larastan ✓ · full suite (excluding
Browser) **1615/1616** ✓.

fix(register): don't block signup on unrecognized browser timezone (#462)
## Problem

Some users reported they couldn't register: they filled the form
correctly, pressed the button, saw a loading spinner, then got bounced
back to the registration page with **no error message**. Meanwhile 20-30
users register fine every day, and the issue wasn't reproducible by the
team.

## Root cause

The register form sends a **hidden, browser-auto-detected `timezone`**
field (`Intl.DateTimeFormat().resolvedOptions().timeZone`). The backend
validated it with Laravel's `timezone` rule:

```php
'timezone' => ['nullable', 'string', 'timezone'],
```

That rule rejects **legacy IANA aliases** that many browsers/OSes still
emit — e.g. `Asia/Calcutta`, `Asia/Saigon`, `Asia/Rangoon`,
`US/Pacific`. Proof on PHP 8.4:

```
in_array("Asia/Calcutta", DateTimeZone::listIdentifiers())  →  false
```

When validation failed, Fortify redirected back with a `timezone` error
— but the form had **no error display** for timezone (every other field
has one). Result: spinner → silent bounce → no message → and the user
can't fix a hidden field anyway. The team couldn't reproduce because
their browsers send canonical zones that pass. Production tzdata may
reject even more zones.

## Fix

- Stop validating the auto-detected hidden field against the strict
timezone list.
- Add `normalizeTimezone()`: keep recognized zones (including BC aliases
via `DateTimeZone::ALL_WITH_BC`), drop anything unrecognized to `null`.
Registration can never be blocked by it again.
- Surface `errors.timezone` in the form as a safety net so a
hidden-field failure can never be silent in the future.

## Tests

- Legacy alias `Asia/Calcutta` → registers, stored as-is.
- Unrecognized zone → registers, stored `null`.
- All existing registration tests pass (13 passed).
